The Monsoon Killed the Tiger by Jack Lyndon Thomas kept me riveted to the story. His main character Kannon Ballard lives with the aftermath of an incident in Viet Nam that ruined his life. A letter from an old friend in Saigon takes him back to his old haunts where he seeks the answers to what really happened and where he meets a woman who changes his life. The story is complex, full of twists and turns and surprisingly nasty characters. Just when the reader thinks it’s about over, another disturbing confrontation ensues, leaving the reader turning pages to keep up. The story is engaging, revealing complexities in the characters as well as the plot, and his descriptions are full of wonderful details that bring the scenes and characters to life.”
