64A Regional Force Insignia 2

The South Vietnamese regional force insignia consisted of a black coat of arms emblazoned on a field of yellow framed by a hexagon outlined in black. The yellow background signified race while the black denoted steel resolution. The crest symbolized bravery and fearlessness. Contained within the crest was a sword crossed with a mortar. The sword stood for fighting to win, while the mortar depicted development of regional forces as fighting units. The crest rested on, and was lightly brushed by, unharvested stalks of rice, symbolic of prosperity.
