Photo was taken midway thru my 1969-1970 tour in South Vietnam, where I served as an infantry officer advisor to South Vietnamese Regional & Popular Forces. This is inside the command bunker we built within a half-acre-sized outpost (AnDinh). The perimeter was manned by local forces who lived in much smaller sandbag bunkers. A water well lay nearby. My skeleton-like appearance startles me.
